Our Government School Gorakhi Gwalior organised an NSS camp at Narwar Village, North Dabra Block. The week-long camp was aimed at promoting social welfare and community engagement.

Body:

100 volunteers participated in the camp and were divided into five groups. The first task was to plant 500 saplings on the school premises and along the roadside. The Saplings were provided free of cost by the horticulture department. The volunteers also focused on raising awareness about girls’ education, especially among backward communities. The teams visited nearby villages to motivate parents and emphasise the importance of educating girls.

Environmental awareness was another main focus. The volunteers conducted drives to clean up the surrounding areas and educated the villagers about the importance of trees in daily life.

Our school, a unit of HSC, National Service Scheme (NSS), organized a seven-day camp at Mungawali village by School No. 2, Morena. The students participated enthusiastically in this camp.

The volunteers were divided into four groups for the camp. As a preliminary work, five hundred saplings were planted. The plants were arranged by the District Horticulture Department, and their treatment was provided free of cost.
In the second phase of the campaign, awareness was spread on the importance of environmental protection. The volunteers cleaned the drains and contributed significantly to making the village clean.

The biggest achievement of this camp was that the campaign based on our old model was successfully completed. In addition, homemade musical programs were organized and lodges were arranged for the tourists.
